I have Windows 2000 Pro & a Western Digital HD w/Asus A7V600 motherboard
which I recently installed. My computer re-boots itself whenever I try to
open specific programs. For example Password Manager in Symantec Works, or
when I try to access and play a specific radio channel in Windows Media
Player 9.0. I can access other programs both in Symantec's System Works and
other Channels on Winows Media Player but those specific ones cause the
computer to re-booot itself. It also re-boots when I try to open Symantec
from the Start Menu. I have downloaded Media Player 9.0 Hotfix and updates
hoping this would fix any problems, but it didn't.
I also tried running a Disk optimizer and Chkdsk to remove any bad sectors
but I still have the problem. Why does this happen just in these specific
cases?
