if only other people that the same about me...I made the wrong comment in one thread and now everyone is flaming on me and I think that they have lost all respect for me, be careful for what you say here for future reference, one wrong comment and you'll find yourself dead within minutes

As for the infinity, don't add a third fan, that will mess up the direction of the airflow, just stick with two fans that are nice and quite but pump a lot of air, I picked the 140mm fan because of the amount of fins it has, but the 120mm pumps out more air by far, just kinda noisy even at stock

Tacos, don't sweat it...many of us have been the object of flames in THG forums. If you know your sh*t no respect will really be lost, and honestly, do you really need the respect of THG forum members? ...didn't think so.

Well i love your sniper cat! Just ignore them. We all make mistakes and as you see your help is admired by the right people  Noise will stuck in about 70% of speed that i'll allow my next gpu's fan to operate. That might be R600 or 8800, but that's another story. See you around 8) !

Thank you, that is very comforting to hear, but I worked very hard to build up a reputation, and I would like to keep it

Then suck it up and work hard to maintain your rep. If you're wrong about something own up to it, learn more, and keep rolling. Gosh, you could be a overclocking noob like myself. I've a reputation...it's bad...and I work hard at maintaining it. :-)

I do work hard, and do you think an oc noob could take an amd dual core to 3.05ghz with very basic cooling? didn't think so. Or oc ram that is only $250 to 1200mhz? Didn't think so, I am trying to learn and I do work hard, just kinda annoying how one statement can ruin your entire reputation

Taco is a fairly young but very bright individual. I only wish at his age that I had been half that smart.

I really don't think one statement can ruin your entire reputation with anyone that has any true credibility. No matter where you go, people will pick at you, don't let it get down as that's the intended effect. If, for some reason, you've displeased your fans then let it blow over. When you have 5,000 posts in these forums you'll not likely give much thought to it and your credibility, will be solid, if deserved.

Remember, there are those kind of people that enjoy nothing more than having you feel the way you seem to feel about this...so suck it up and teach us money-wast'n noobs how it's properly done.

Me too, but I'm proof that you don't have to be a genius to be successful, so Taco should have quite a bright future, eh?

Tried to do that in thread telling everyone the 9700 is a waste for the price, but in the end, looks like I got forced into saying that it was a worthwhile cooler.

If you look at its price, its $80, but all the sites always have it $20 off because they know they can't sell it at the price zalman wants and that it is very expensive hype compared to any of the coolers I have named

Hopefully, what I'd really like to do is own my own computer company that sells products at whole sale prices to enthusiasts (will have retail prices for sites like newegg) that prove their knowledge, because if your not a n00b, I see no reason why we have to pay the insane markups some sites have.

Well Tac, the first thing you've got to learn is to stick to your guns. If you've let others "force" you into saying something you don't agree with...I can think of few things that will lose you credibility as quickly as that.

This isn't a popularity contest. It's about the sharing of information that is hopefully accurate. ...bear that in mind, especially in a semi-technical forum such as THG. You're likely smarter than many of us, so stick to what you believe if you believe its correct. ...don't worry about being popular.

...makes me think of daSickNinja, another super bright fella. I realize I sound patronizing and so I'm gonna leave it alone. You'll reputation will heel because your smart and you seem to care.

Forget the thermaltake and the cm, their all hype too, both the tuniq and the scythe kill them too

If you think Im wrong, let me know, but I have had expeirance with zalman and other coolers that are all hype and have compared the performance with people here that have either of the two I named and those demolish the zalman, etc (was a noob when I bought the zalman a long time ago)

Ah, I don't think of myself as all that noobish. I paid $36.00 for my Zalman 9500 and its keeping my FX60 idling at a nice 28c right now. Loaded up doing Prime95 and and 3DMark06 at the same time, the temp goes up to about 53c. Not all that bad, in my opinion, and at $36.00, not a bad price.

More Information

no, $36 is not a bad deal at all, but consider that the arctic cooling freezer 64 pro beats it, and for only $15 at a few sites that don't have the newegg markup. Kinda makes me wish I didn't buy my 9500. I don't think you're n00bish at all, because you waited for the price to become reasonable and then made your move, plus I have seen your comments in other threads and I know you have a lot of intelligence

I had a Zalman 9500 and I didn't realize how well it was really doing until I tested it against my Artic Freezer 7 Pro. Then I got a Tuniq Tower that blew away the Zalman 9500...but is just too durned huge for use on my Extreme Striker. ...so I'm listening and may take a serious look at the 9700 as the size of the cooler is factor in my situation.

Cuz I bought my 7900GS KO when it was in offer. Also, I wanted to stick with NVIDIA for many reasons which really dont need to be explained here.
Finally, I didnt buy anything better than that because Im not rich, and also because dx10 will become an standard really soon.

Understand completely, us basic people can't afford them expensive builds, but how'd you afford the striker then?

Because the motherboard is the most important thing on your rig. I wanted to have a future proof motherboard and Im glad I spent $400 on the Striker because I wont have to change it in a long time (guaranteed).
So far, it didnt have any big problem. Not even the SATA problem with most 680i mobos. It is a really good mobo and hopefully a nice overclocker.

Plans to change the videocard... I really dont know, Maybe in some months, as well as adding another Gb of RAM. Right now, the mobo left me with no money on the pocket, but as I said, really worth it ;)
