I have a Canon digital SLR camera which can be configured to communicate over
USB via "PTP". When I connected it to my win2000 system it prompts for
a driver. Is there such a thing? I was told that Win/XP has PTP built in.

TIA

Canon 10d. On the Canon download site it has:
WIA driver for Windows XP/Me
TWAIN driver for Windows 98/2000

So does the TWAIN driver support the PTP protocol?

No. TWAIN is for scanner software. It will consider the camera as a scanner such that you
can use a program and vertualy pull in a picture as if you were using a scanner.

You want the WIA driver for Win2K. There is no stock WIA driver for the 10d. If that
doesn't do it it is in one of the other Canon supplied programs or from the below URL. That
program will support the Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP).
