I've been reading reviews of NAS appliances and network throughput scores on various devices. Seem like folks are concerned somewhat about the actual throughput of their GigE LANS. Why not do a review of 802.3ad (aka "Port Trunking" or "Port Aggregation" ) capable devices? There are 802.3ad capable switches available at the <$USD300 level and even some multiport PCIe based NICs. Cheaper, "ad" capable NICs are available as well. How much throughput could you acheive by spending less that $USD1K for a 3 device LAN? Should your ulitmate household media server be 802.ad capable in order to offer multiple media delivery channels to it's clients? Sounds like a cool article to me ;)

FWIW,
-bill
