:)
Definition 1: A FAN is a series of blades attached to an axis, connect to a motor, as just a slight angle. As the motor spins the blades push air in one direction.

Definition 2: A FAN is a person who really really really likes another person or group of people (such as a band, or a company). They typically will follow that group or person, purchase all sorts of things about that group or person and hang it on their wall or take it to bed with them. Example, BaronMatrix is a FAN of AMD, he will purchase AMD stuff just to purchase it.... he does not care if it is any good or not.Baron is a groupie. :P

I think you need a name change to smartalleck7070.

Expanding upon that, maybe "Foreign Aerial Network"?

I think I stayed up too late :D

Its an ATM term for "fanned area network" meaning that a number of PE devices are interconnected, so there is no single point of failure. I know that doesn't help much...

It's not that late yet. Might be a good idea to get some sleep soon. I'm going to be up for at least 3 and a half more hours. Need to go bug a girl doing the morning shift, give her a belated birthday present, and an early Christmas present. A copy of CS2... for free. No, really! Okay, only a 30 day trial, but it should be the thought that counts.

Croc,

You know, you just might, ultimately, have given the correct answer to the original poster's question.

Thanks, I hope to. :D

And suddenly a movie quote comes to mind.

"Chicks don't dig nerds, especially ones that are into Lord of the Rings."
"Chicks dig Lord of the Rings, Randall."
"The type of chick that's into Lord of the Rings I wouldn't fuck with the torch of Gondor."

It means that the heatsink and fan are included in the package. The fan is rated to adequately cool the central processing unit under normal conditions and decent case cooling.

Means that it will be included with a Person that'll Be very, very Impressed with your Processor and will be like "OMG, A Conroe, I LOVE YOU!<3"

Means it's a Retail Package, With Heat sink and Fan and Warranty. OEM Don't have Fan Or heat sink nor will they have Warranty.
