I have a question requiring the equipment needed in order to perform "How to Crack WEP" guide, I have a 802.11b D-Link DWL-122 that is based on PRISM 2, its a USB wireless adapter. Now would this adapter work when trying to do this? Or does it have to be a PC card type? My main reason for asking this question is because when trying to type in "iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor" as told by the article I keep getting the following error,

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Operation not supported.

Thats alright, I got the answer I was looking for on remote-exploit's forums and from their irc channel. Apparently D-Link DWL-122 REV B1 is the only one that works with BackTrack or Auditor. I have REV A1 which doesn't work with either distro at all. Upon the recommendation from the crew over on IRC they suggested that I should purchase a Proxim ORiNOCO 802.11b/g PC Card Gold ( 8470-WD ) which I did a few days ago, just waiting to receive it now.
