HP. (Especially the 548 with a battery that
can't be replaced.)

Is this intended as a dig at HP or Apple? Only the first crop of HP PPCs had
non-user-replaceable batteries. All since have been replaceable. Far from
being impossible to replace, you can still buy replacements with
instructions and tools. Same for the original Compaq PPCs that also had
internal batteries.

My Dell DJ battery isn't user replaceable. Neither is my Samsung YP910GSs
battery. Maybe Apple copied them. Maybe it was just a design decision, to
keep the unit small, and sleek.

Ipod batteries can be replaced (the replacements are vastly over-priced)
