Anyway, I was just poking fun (and I had a few beers so I was feeling extra mean). It bugs me when people do the whole "PC VS Console" debate not because I have a strong opinion on the subject, but because it's a stupid debate.

Yep, both platforms have their issues, it's a personal preference. Why can't we all just leave it at that and go on about our lives?

It runs exactly the same way as it does on the Xbox 360 on my computer. setings are maxed and res is at 1280x960. It runs high frames in same places and drops in same places as 360, and if you look at some of my other threads you will see how picky I am about how a game looks and runs. Just make sure to use updated drivers, tweak your settings abit, keep you comp clean, update direct x and then optimize the game and your good to go! I can play it on my laptop, which it runs about the same just on the lower settings and lower res.

the game claims my system processor doesnt meet the minimum requirements and yet it says it recommends the AMD 3500+! lol

Its coz your cpu speed is lower than a 3500.

most other games that I play that recognize parts on a processor look at the actual speed and allow for it to automatically set the higher settings and as far as my laptop cpu the performance of my laptop cpu in that game I guarantee is higher than a 3500+.

I know your on the PC side but I want everyone here to know that in no way do those shots represent what Oblivion looks like on a high end PC. They didn't even turn on AF filtering for crying out loud which in itself makes all the difference in the world Who knows what other features they didn't bother to turn on that make the PC version so much better.

Gamespot is the most console biased web site around and is the last place I would go to for PC info.


Give me a second and I will show you the diff between 360 Oblivion and high end PC Oblivion.

Before any console dorks shout MODS! I will go ahead and make it clear right now that no mods are used in these shots, every in game slider and option is simply maxed out to its fullest.

First are the 360 PICS taken from Gamespot. I have played Oblivion on the 360 myself on a high def tv so I know for a fact that these are 360 pics. No af filtering whatsoever and the level of detail with the ammount of grass and trees are greatly reduced on the 360 just so it can run half way decent outside. Plus the textures themselves are not nearly as sharp as they are on the PC. Pay close attention to the loss of detail on the trees and rocks on the 360 version when comparing the 360 screens to the PC screens.

Thanks bud I just get so sick of console dorks claiming that Oblivion on the 360 is the same as on the PC with the sliders maxed out If you have ever played Oblivion for the 360 you would know how far from the truth that really is. A more accurate comparison would be if the PC had its sliders up 25% with medium textures and Zero AF. Not only is the grass thinned out on the 360 version but it also pops up right infront of your face as your walking along, all these downgrades in visuals from the PC version and it still struggles to maintain 30fps outside and quit often dips below it

I'm say I know PC is better and Gamerspot proved it in that article. The PC screen shots are way better then the default ones
