I'd like to walk into Starbucks and connect with my new Axim x50v.I'm new
to
wireless and not sure how to set up connections ? Is this what Odyssey is
for ? or something else Thanks Alan

assuming the x50v has wifi, there are going to be a number of steps (the
first time out)

you will have to assure that wifi is on

you need to find and "associate" (connect) to the starbucks wifi ssid
(sorry, don't know the x50v interface)

Once associated, the next step is to start pocket internet explorer
(this is specific to paid services such as starbucks)

There will be a login page which you will have to login in to (I
strongly recommend setting up the account and payment options on your pc)

Once that is done, you can surf and connect normally.

Since it's a fair to middlin' chance the Starbucks sports a T-Mobile
Hotspot, you will first need to make a stop at
http://www.t-mobile.com/hotspot/ . Then what Bev says holds. I would seek
out some free hotspots first, or even invest in a home WiFi system before
commititng to $20-$30 a month at Starbucks though.
