Are there BlueTooth cellphones out there and does anyone have any
experience with them? I'm looking at replacing my cell phone with
another cell phone and would like to investigate the possibilty of being
able to dial the phone by pulling up a contact on my PPC.

Hi
Lots.... :-) in the area i live in (Denmark) i think it would be difficult
to find a cellphone that dosen't have bluetooth integrated. I have had 3
bluetooth enabled celphones and dailing from the Pocket Pc works great,
allsoo connecting to the internet via GPRS og modem works great..

Outside the US you'll probably find more Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.
They work great with Pocket PCs.

Motorola makes a good Bluetooth phone (V170) that works with CDMA networks. In fact, the download speeds tend to be much better. Verizon has a free (other than minutes) 1xRTT service that claims bursts of 144 kbs and I've actually been able to verify that. Newer phones are being developed for EV-DO networks that will allow even greater bandwidths, although I don't know what the cost will be. As was stated they work just as you'd expect them. There are even some interesting voice command options that allow you to connect and dial-up and go to a particular website.

I have a bluetooth phone that I use as a DUN modem, but I'm not sure I
can dial numbers on it from the pocket pc.

Regarding dialing, ou may need to ensure that your phone includes an
HFP (Hands-Free) bluetooth profile. Mine only has a profile for DNP
(Dial-up Networking) which it seems could conceivably be used to dial
the phone, but it might be a hack.

The Motorola V551 is also Bluetooth enabled and can be dialed from the
PPC. In its handsfree mode it can also dial a (pre-learned) number vial
voice command
