I say why cant we have the great wall of the United States?

It could be 50ft tall, spanning the entire boarder of Mexico. It would be made of reinforced concrete coated in platinum to show our monetary dominance.

Over the plantum, we would superglue 100$ bills to the wall like wallpaper so that when the poor people tried to pull the bill off, it woudl rip and become worthless.

On top of this wall, we could pay legal Mexicans to sit there and "guard" the wall. And next to the wall would be the anti-cussing robots and anti-graffiti robots (if you remember which movie that’s from).

And concrete brick would have a mini nuclear bomb that went off if you messed with it.... and the other bricks would automatically regenerate itself using borg-hybrid nanotechnology (yes area54 does exist... and so does the borg).

'Slant' oil anybody?

And yes then the US could impose democracy on Canada (none of this multi-party crap we have here). The US does get pissed off at Canada for being one of the world's main exporters of uranium.

Yeah I forgot about all of your huge lumber reserves... wait, I mean your huge oil reserves... still smaller than Canada, natural gas?? nope... precious metals? nada...

I guess the US has lots of coal, but I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head. Its kind of sad that the US uses coal for 53% of its energy production whereas Canada produces more than 60% of its energy from hydro (not perfect, but a lot better than coal).

LINK!

Now to avoid coming off as anti-US, I will say that their corporate tax structure is superior to Canada's and some aspects of their government are better (elected Senators mostly). They also have many nice sunny places to vacation in (Hawaii, Florida, California), awesome gambling (Vegas), some beautiful national parks and I'm sure the east coast has something good too (can't think of anything). Also, can't forget all of the beautiful women in the US.

I really do like the US, it is just so easy to pick on the big guys and root for the underdog.

You know, us Canadians in general actually like Americans for the most part. We just have to bash you guys a bit to help differentiate ourselves. As a country, we try hard not to be seen as the 51st state.

You mean the 50th state. New Mexico is still not recognized as part of the USA.

Thinking ... BSOD. I should start using linux

Please help me out and highlight my spelling errors. I feel I need your expert eye!

Just Firefox yourself my young padawan(less than jedi  ). 8)
Maybe you use another browser. Don't feel sorry, it a common "mistake" .
Just one thing... saying that using something other than firefox being a "mistake" might not be entirely accurate.

Read that, then get back to me. :P

Oh, and I like FireFox BTW. I use FireFox. But, I don't like it when people say things in such a heavy-handed one-sided way.

Thanx 4 the link, but I'm not talking about firefox being better in any way, I just said it has spell check. 8)

Actualy, I find when creating a website, If I design it for the Opera browser, I can lower my bandwith considerably.

Aye? How so?

I tried Opera a long time ago, but ended up hating the experience. I don't think I was ready for it... haven't had much to do with it since. I suspect it's better now though. Does it still have banner ads built into the browser? *shudders* If so then I'll continue to boycott it.

Dude, you know they're actually building this? It's being built much slower than expected, because the hired workforce from over the border seems to not care if they actually get it built. Strangely, no $100 bills are missing yet. (Except one briefcase full is unaccounted for... let's run specials during the local news on that for about fifteen years just to create more useless hatred and hype. Blargh I hate local news.)

Also, we can't have roads breaking through the wall, but the Governator has thought up a brilliant plan to solve that problem as well. Too bad nobody can understand him. It is suspected that there will be no more roads leading into or out of Mexico at all - everything must be done by boat or plane. Much easier to patrol and enforce.

Don't forget the swimmers!

I know that but I think you are forgetting about Cuba. Weren't they annexed a few years back? Isn't New Mexico just a shiny fancy version of Old Mexico? I guess if anything, wouldn't Iraq be the 51st state (wait, then the US would have to provide them with services and such, better to just 'cut and run')?

Because If I design a page that only runs well in Opera... people using other browsers wont visit due to errors or page uglyness.... which means less bandwidth to my site cause only Opera users will be going to it.

More Information

I find that Opera is the most restrictive of all of the browsers that I test with. So if it works with Opera, it will work with FF and IE. That being said however, I generally develop for IE, do my testing in FF and then click around in Opera once I'm done.

As for Mac support. I just tell customers to buy a new computer :D

Seriously.

Do you use Dreamweaver? It will test the code in multiple browsers for you....

and Im thinking about reverting back to netscape navigator 4.0 as my baseline for web creating. Whose gunna stop me/

More Information

I generally develop using VS.NET 2k5. Most of my development is backend stuff, I don't delve to much into any crazy gui designs. Although, lately I have been using a lot of AJAX and with that more javascript.

Low blow. LOL But so true. I wasn't really arguing with gmoney about "Canadia" =) It wasn't a taxation pissing contest either. Greenpeace is a worldwide organization, they spaz on Canadia too. We're nearly the same country, the US just gets a lot more attention and has more people. As far as natural resources...It would suffice to say that Canada has as many if not more ore to be mined, trees to be cut down, and fresh water to export. The only things they lack are the fruit trees of California and the south, and other seasonal climates. I'm guessing that parts of southern Canada has some grapes too. As far as oil, I'm sure they have a lot that is yet untapped. The eskimos of the north better watch out, soon they'll have stupid white folks claiming all their ice as their own. I swear, westerns are a freakin' plague. We think everything belongs to us. I'll bet Eve was dumb white blonde since she came from Adam's white rib bone, and Adam was prolly a black dude who didn't eat much fruit. J/K I'm rather non-religious. I think superstition is an plague of ignorance and fear.
