Cpu: Core 2 Duo E6400 $220.00
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819115004

Gpu: Hoping to snag a 8800gts for around $425

Ram CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB DDR2 667 $99.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820146580

Psu OCZ OCZ600ADJSLI 600W $84.99

OS Microsoft Windows XP Home w/Upgrade Coupon for Vista $89.99

Optical drives:

SONY Floppy Drive MPF920 $7.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6821103116

External components:

Lcd Acer AL1916Fbd $209.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824009087

Case Rosewill R805BS $25.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811147025

Speaker Logitech 5 watts 2.0 X-120e $19.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6836121001

Mouse Kensington 72213 $12.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6826125034

Keyboard BenQ i100-Black $4.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6823121002

As far as the 8800gts, I’m thinking it should be about 20% faster than a 1950xtx and should cost about the same or a little more.

Any other cables I would need?

What about partitioning?

From what i understand the G80 is gonna retail between $600-700, it may be less but that's what the rumors say that are flying around...

Don't buy the PN5SLI, it's just a nforce 4 motherboard. Wait for the nforce 600 series equivalent that'll be out with the g80.

That's the price of the 8800 gtx, the gts will probably ship for less, maybe somewhere between 500 and 600 (I hope less :)).

Well you can save some money and get rid of the OCZ PSU and just use the rosewill one that comes with the case.... it should run dual GTX's in Sli with a third for Phisics.

ROFLMAO Totally kidding here.

Btw sviola... the new 680's wont be in the $100-150 price range when they first come out.

Yes, but 680's are the equivalent for the 590's not the 570's, if I'm not mistaken, the 650's are the ones he should be looking for.

Pay the extra 15 and get this:

Extra 15? His PSU was listed at 85, you sent him to a 149 one... that's 55 bucks (well, maybe you're paying him the 40 bucks difference ;) )...

But on one thing you're right, he should get the GameXtream line, which are very good.

I dont plan on SLI so do I really need 600 watts?

"Recommended price is 399 dollars/euros, but who are we kidding? Expect at least 100 dollars/euros higher price." From the INQ
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35483

But yeah, $425 is too optimistic.

Altough it is a 975X chipset board, are you sure it will run Core 2 Duo? It seems way cheaper than the other 975X mobo on the market.

I think you'll be fine with the rest.

Wow I sure am stuipid! Yeah that mobo isn't compatible with C2D so I'll switch it out for this ASUS.

I'm ready to buy, does everything look good?
