I don't know a thing about TV Tuner Cards. I like the idea of watching tv on my pc.

So what should I look for in the card. Also I'm assuming they don't work like video cards they just plug in as a regular PCIe type card.
Price ins't a problem however I want one that will work for a while.

I want to also know how the signal encoding works for cable/tuner. Becuase I'm worried about the digital cable setup I got. Like will I get On Demand feature that they offer.

hi
i agree with the previous post that hauppage are the best.
i have pinnacle card which is very good and easy to use software.
you must decide what kind of tv channels will you watch,
i mean if they are digital terrestial, analog,or cable channels.
correctly they are cards for cable channels only, and hydrib cards for analog and digital channels.
if i was in your place today i would buy and hydrib card.

I use Powercolor's 550 Pro. Anandtech claims tuners based on ATI theater 550 are the best. Powercolor comes in either PCI-E or PCI models. The software package leaves a lot to be desired.

If you are looking for PVR software to go with your tuner go with Snapstream's Beyond TV.
