I currently have a 512MB SD card and 1GB CF card. At the time, they
collectively took the total cost of my PPC to more than many of
today's full desktops! But I'm seriously considering increasing my
storage capacity. My new Wikipedia alone wants 511MB <g>. Can any UK
users save me some research time please? Any competitive sources of
1GB SD and/or 2GB CF cards? And any hard evidence of any brands to
avoid?

Thanks both, will check them out.

Suppose I decided to risk bankruptcy (if not divorce!) by going for
4GB? At the first site I found
http://www.epcbuyer.com/products.asp?recnumber=2052
I see this warning:
"It is important to note that cards greater than 2 GB can only be used
in cameras that support the FAT32 file system."

The site seems unaware of PPCs, only cameras. What is the implication
of this for a PPC, supported by an XP PC that uses NTFS, not FAT32?

Yes, I'd just found that one. Excellent price, but I already have 1GB
and really do want MORE!

Occasionally these bigger cards fail, I always use 512mb- About disk
size. They interchange with my camera and I can backup to CD
whenever. You may well be ok but it the "putting all your eggs in one
basket" thing again.

If one owns a DVD & DVD RW then "About disk size" 4.3 or 8.5 gig. So, no
problemo! :-)
