Sapphire x1900xt for $239.99
Forum Graphic & Displays : Graphics Cards - Sapphire x1900xt for $239.99
It's 256mb though.
Still, HOLY CRAP DUDE!!! 8O
Ooohh GW might get really pissed when he sees this.[/heads for the hills]
Nice to see it introduced so cheap!

Meh, could be cheaper.
True, but this is day 1 of availability and it's already X1900GT/7900GT prices. I'm hoping for $200 myself.
Too bad the mem timings are relaxed so it's a bit behind the 512MB version. But all in all, a nice X1800XT replacement...the card the X1900GT should have been.
True...
can't you just tighten teh timings manually in atitool?
Just $40 more than a 7900GS and much better performance? Sold, baby.

GOD DAMN! BARGAIN! Defintely better than a 7900GS for about 35-40 bucks more. I wish i had the opportunity to get that =[

This happens whenever I order a new card
I've already spent more money than I should have on the GT...I'll be satisfied.
I've also got to remember that I'm gaming on an LCD with a native res of 1280x1024....and some cards are simply unnecessary to own under that circumstance.
8O damn; what a price.
I am pissed off right now. I just bought a video card for my new computer which arrives like saturday.

What did you buy, what did you pay, and where did you buy it from?
I know that it's frustrating, but sometimes you just gotta suck it up and take it like a man. You can't win them all. Beleive me; I was ripping my hair out when, 2 months after I bought my CPU, the price had gone down $120. I feel that now that the new iPod Nano is out. I paid $200 for my 2GB model in Nov. 2005. Right now, you can get a 2GB for $150, plus it's got the aluminum casing, which, in my mind, is far superior to the plastic crap that they used for the original Nano.
I bought a cheap x850xt for 130$. I was going to get like a x1800xt or a x1900gt for 200$ but the sapphire cards disappeared off of newegg. but for 240$ I would of bought this in a heart beat.

You should be able to return the card once you receive it. Newegg is very good about that kind of stuff.
Won't I get like a 15% restocking fee?
Only 256MB, but still an awesome deal.
| Quote : Won't I get like a 15% restocking fee? |
Yes. 15% of $130 is $19.50, so I'd just hold onto the card until DX10 comes out. The X850XT may be old, but it's still a good performer.

Heh...you should see the new iRiver S10...not only is it as small and light as the new Shuffle, but it also has a 1.5" screen. It plays mp3s and video files (wma, asf, and ogg), has an FM tuner, and supports SRS WOW sound processing. It comes in 1 GB or 2 GB models, and has an 8 hour battery life (as opposed to the Shuffle's 12)...if it's priced anywhere near $100, Apple will officially be worthless.

will a 430w power supply work for this card? (x1900xt)
| Quote : will a 430w power supply work for this card? (x1900xt) |
With the cheap 256Mb card? yes. Probably even with the 512Mb original version.

How can you say that without knowing the power supply specs? The cheap Thermaltake 430W only has a single 18 amp 12v rail. There are probably generic PSU's with even less than that.
Anyway, more important than knowing 430 watt is knowing the 12v rail. I would not want to try and run a X1900XT on this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] No=1389575
Contrast that to an antec true 430W with 26 amp. http://www.antec.com/specs/true430_spe.html
or the newer Truepower 2.0 430watt with dual 17 amp 12v rails.
http://www.antec.com/specs/TPII430_spe.html
I'd still get an x1800xt 512. The 46$ doesn't make up for the few fps gain
Especially since the x1800xt512 can run everything out now... But yes, good deal indeed >.> for an x1900xt, especially since it's NIB and has a warranty and all that good $hit.
so Pauldh. Here is the PSU that i have right now. And it looks like im out of luck:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Prod [...] ode=370565
its the one u said not to use.lol.
any idea what would happen if i tried it?
DOn't feel too bad, I bought one of those too for the low price.
ATI recommends a 30 amp 12v rail for the X1900XT. This is assuming a loaded system. I'd suppose 25 amp would do in many systems, but 18 amp just isn't going to cut it. I doubt you'd find the system stable while under load (gaming) using a X1900XT with that PSU. The X1900XT can use 110watts on it's own according to Digit-life. The 256MB one would be a little less. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/v [...] ise_4.html
Anyway, If you want the X1900XT, I'd budget for a beefier PSU like these or better for starters:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817103937
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817104954
Otherwise, the X1900GT uses about 75% the power of the X1900XT, and the 7900GT's use about 50%. Not the same performance, but a 7900GT or GS would be better on that PSU of yours.
here are my current system specs.
Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811133132
(all fans hooked up)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (not overclocked) with stock fan.
Motherboard: Asus A8N-E
1gb corsair value select mem (cheap, i know)
2 HDD
1 dvd burner and 1 cd burner.
and that thermaltake PSU that i showed u
do you think the x1900xt is even worth getting with my current setup (leaving out the PSU)? or should i just get a x1900gt. plus i probably will only game at 1280x1024.
i plan on getting this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817174023
but i never heard of the company. thanks for all of your help.
well i went to the website u provided and i said a 320 watt PSU should be good. but is it fairly close to what i should get? they also recommend a minimum of 26A on the 12v rail. so i guess a new PSU for me.
sorry to keep on posting but i think i made my final decision. i will just go with the x1900gt. if i go with this card will my thermaltake power supply be enough, since the GT requires less power?

After seeing you have an A64, 2HDD's and 2 Optical drives, I would say NO, the Thermaltake's 18amp 12volt rail is not enough for the X1900GT plus all the other 12v useage. When talking spending $250 on a video card, do yourself a favor and upgrade that PSU.

All the cheap X1800XTs have dried up; all newegg has are some (temptingly priced) open box cards and ONE new, BBA card for the low, low price of $510.
hey pauldh. well i found some power supplies that fit my budget ($70 max). here are 2 of my choices:
Ultra ULT31845 X-Finity 500W
and
Ultra ULT31841 V-Series 500 Watt
will anyone of thoes work? and if u see anything better, please tell me.
Ultra = CRAP.
A good $60 FSP will easily pwn those two.

Antec TruePower TPII-430
2 +12V rails, with 17A on each.
well well. all these damn choices. lol. i think i like this one. i just like the quality of thermaltake.
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/prod [...] 009394.asp
it has 2 12v rails at 14 and 15 amps. so is that good enough now?
Your compononents could be come non-usable if your PSU fails >.>. I personally have lost a very expensive motherboard due to hooking it up to a very very bad psu. (dfi lp ut slidr with an aspire 400w and poof wouldn't post)
To each his own as long as it's a quality PSU with enough juice for you. Personally I'd take a Fortron Source or Antec over a Thermaltake. I'd avoid the Ultra. I game on an Antec true Control 550W and a Fortron Blue Storm 500W. Both very nice and quiet. But the new Smartpower 2.0's from Antec are also very quiet and have beefed up 12v rails compared to the old smart powers. I've used loads of the smartpower 2.0's over the past few months; no complaints so far.
thanks for all of the help guys. i think i will be going with the 500w Antec SmartPower. It has 2 12v rails and the price is pretty good.

Thermaltake makes good stuff; I'm using a 430W TR2 right now, but the Antec has more amps on the +12V rails.

I'd still go with that 430W TruePower.
