Not alot of replies on this article, I think that says alot concerning 'if people are ready for this technology', well, atleast where your readers are concerned.

Where does Truecrypt fit in on the timeline and technology when it comes to Cryptography for Hard drives? This is the first time I've heard of LUKS, but truecrypt which is also opensource is said to be supported on Windows and Linux O.S.'. It also supports keyfiles for some defense against keylogging and can also be used for Two Person Accountablility. It also supports about 5 algorithms and is portable. One thing is that the traveler disk .exe requires admin priviledges on the host machine if you should decide to use truecrypt on portable storage. Does Truecrypt not "cut the mustard" to be included in this review? Please respond.

Somehow I doubt the writter even knew about the given 'application' and if so, keeping candadits to a minimum, would help keep confusion, and deadlines at bay :)

I think there are not a lot of replies because there are hardly any Linux laptop users. But, Tom's hardware keeps pushing Linux.

I think there are not a lot of replies because there are hardly any Linux laptop users. But, Tom's hardware keeps pushing Linux.

This isnt just a laptop technology, this could be used with removable drive caddies as well, or even in a desktop period, as an added measure of security.

Fyi, if the file system doesn't compress the page before encrypting, the number of "cribs" (known text in fixed places) in the file system make the crypto system less than robust.
