What I'm wondering is the cost of PC that would have equal graphics capability to the PS3. Would a 7600GT have the same graphics capability as what the PS3 has or perhaps the 7900GT? The premium PS3 is rumored to sell for $599US. You can't get that great of a computer for that price. For the price thought, the PS3 may be a better gaming experience if you have a 40+inch Plasma screen to go with it. Is the PS3 the gaming system for dummies or is it the real deal? I think that playing Crysis on Blu-Ray on a 40inch screen would beat playing that on a 19inch PC screen any day. I may just hold off on a new PC and see what PS3 has to offer. It's definately a good justification for getting a new Plasma screen.

Does this post have anything to do with CPUs?

You seriously can't compare a PC to a PS3. I know some Sony guy said the PS3 was a computer but he's an idiot.

A PC and a console are hardly similar. They can both play games, yes, but that's pretty much where the similarities end. A PC can do so much more than just game (or play DVDs).

I am not sure how playing on a blu-ray disc would improve the game experience, if anything it would do the opposite considering hard drives read and load data much faster than blu-ray drives.

Anyway it's a question of experience when it comes to gaming. If you want the ultimate visual experience then PC is the way to go. But it costs money. I would imagine Crysis would a much more enjoyable game on the PC. The video chip on the PS3 may not render quite as well as current GPU techology available on the PC.

I was a big fan of consoles for years but after building my own rig, I will never buy an FPS on a console that I could get for my PC.
