there is no best. just different revisions. read up on what each revsion adds to get an idea of what they mean.

some mean different fabrication size:

e.g : 130nm to 90nm

some mean the instruction prosses' that it can handle and understand.

e.g SSE1, SSE2, 3Dnow!,

the amount of power they require and the clock speed.

tada

heres a list of 939s

* Clawhammer Core: L2 1MB Cache/ SSE1, SSE2 Instruction Support
* Newcastle Core: L2 512KB Cache/ SSE1, SSE2 Instruction Support
* Winchester Core: L2 512KB Cache/ SSE1, SSE2 Instruction Support
* Venice Core: L2 512KB Cache/ SSE1, SSE2, SSE3 Instruction Support
* San Diego Core: L2 1MB Cache/ SSE1, SSE2, SSE3 Instruction Support
* Manchester Core: (Single & Dual Core) L2 512KB cache per CPU/ SSE1, SSE2, SSE3 Instruction Support
* Toledo Core: (Dual Core) L2 1MB cache per CPU/ SSE1, SSE2, SSE3 Instruction Support
* Venice Core CPUs include: 3000+, 3200+, 3500+, 3800+ (Retail)
* San Diego Core CPUs include: 3700+, 4000+, FX55, FX57 (Retail)
* Manchester Core CPUs include: X2 3800+, X2 4200+, X2 4600+ (Retail)
* Toledo Core CPUs include: X2 3800+ (with half of the 1MB L2 disabled), X2 4400+, X2 4800+, FX-60 (retail)
