is the Intel Centrino Duo T2300 1.67Ghz......

1) a 64-bit per cpu or 32-bit per cpu ?
2) is it 1.67ghz per cpu ?
3) if it is a 32-bit per cpu, is the centrino more or less like having an amd turion 64? (single core )

the specs are per cpu, so yes it is 1.67 GHz per cpu, it's 32-bit until the next launch (core 2 duo), and the regular centrino is single core, but if you get the single core, make sure you grab one with the new sticker on it that looks like the centrino duo sticker. it is a better cpu than the pentium m generally, so get one of those two. turions aren't recommended, but if you absolutely HAVE to have 64-bit, that would be the immediate answer.

centrinos outperform turions, but 64-bit is only on turions as of now. the choice is yours.

the intel single processor u r mentioning is the Intel centrino Solo processor right ? and it 32-bit right ?

2 x 32-bit cpu's =... 2 x 32-bit cpus, NOT 1x64-bit!

Both CPUS MUST run at the same speed

Centrino = a combo of pentium m/core cpu, intel chipset and intel certified wireless adapter, NOT the cpu its self.

Heh get'em Apache.

Core duo = 2x32bit cpu's as stated before
Both have same clock speed (1.67 ghz in your case)
Both have seperate 1 meg cache.
Can't "add bits"

Centrino = worthless name in an attempt to monopolize computer systems by making prime pieces Intel.

Sorry to restate/repost the same info, but had to add a little bit.

ummmm yonah core - the first to share the L2 cache (1st gen core arcitecture)
centrino - atleast you know with that tag that your getting good battery life etc

ignore the 1.67ghz - it performs better then a P4 3ghz

thanks guys this is what my friend might be going for as it is the laptop which goes in his buget area
