I have a Brother MFC-9700 laster printer. I need to buy another toner
cartridge and see that I can save money by buying either a compatible
or remanufactured cartridge. Does anyone have any experience that these
are just as good as genuine cartridges from the printer maker or not?
Which would you recommend between compatible and remanufactured?

Unlike inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges seem to have a better performance
record as far as compatible or remanufactured cartridges are concerned. Go
to www.anderson-tech.com and check out some of the prices. Give the toll
free phone number a call and ask some questions.

Our printers have done over 2 million pages using the cheapest toner cartridges
available at the time, whether compatible or remanufactured.
The emphasis as always been on cheapest.
Never bought a single original.
The oldest printer is 7 years old and still going.
No problem with printing quality / reliability
Remanufactured cartridges seem to be about 60 to 70% cheaper than original new cartridges and don’t have compatibility problems because they used the manufacturer’s original cartridges in their reuse. We have started to use www.paragon-matrix.com as our remanufactured toner source - See what you think.
It's always been an issue with warranty, once your warranty period ends most people try compatible cartridges/toner and find it a good experience.
The biggest advantage of using compatible toner cartridges is they are low cost consumables. Compatible and Remanufactured toner cartridges are available for laser printers and give good quality printing at a lower cost often half the cost of the branded cartridge.
In inkjet printing, a compatible cartridge refers to an ink cartridge that is not manufactured by the original manufacturer of your printer (called an OEM cartridge), but will function and work in the same way that an OEM cartridge would.

From my opinion,remanufactured cartridges are as good as OEM cartridges and good in quality also.So if you prefer remanufactured catrtridges ,then it is better.
