How can I see the IP address from the URL typed in the address bar of IE5.5?

For instance, tomshardware.com is 209.197.121.1 which I found by pinging from a command prompt. I'm pretty sure there's some way to see the IP from the browser by clicking on something.

Am I right?

I don't believe that IE or Netscape provide that kind of information. I'm curious to know why would you want to know how to get the IP address from the URL in IE 5.5 if you already know how to get the IP through pinging from the command prompt?

Hmm...I smell a DoS attack. J/k

You can't do that from IE or Netscape (unless I'm wrong, which has never happened...yeah, right). But you can do it from the command prompt (like you said), or you can go to CuteFTP and try to go to the domain. It'll give you the IP.

There's a neat little program called DNS Workshop which does the trick, and more besides.
