I quite often get a warning that there is insufficient space on my
windows drive. Typically it might say that I only have 32MB. If I
then go straight to my-computer and look at the properties for C:
(which is where I have Windows installed..) it tells me there there
is - for instance 129MB of free space.

How come the warning?

129MB is really still not enough space - it implies that System Restore has
already been switched off to regain space, for one thing.

You need to clear some headroom on that HD - fast! and then do a scandisk
and defrag.

Hi Noel,
Thanks for your response. I have found nothing on that C: that I
could delete really. I suspect that there is a huge amount of "lost"
or "invisible" data on it that I would love to "get at" and delete.
Can you give me a tip in this respect. Is there a free-/Share-ware
utility that has a look at what is "really" on a h.disk and perhaps
displays it graphically. I seem to remember having seen somthing
like this way back?

ron b.

(p.s. There is movie maker and web-publisher etc on the disk but I am
not sure how or where to delete those.. were not listed in
"systemcontrol/software/windows-setup/" )

Ronald, use the Add-Remove Programs wizard to uninstall any undesired
programs. Then run Disk Cleanup to remove unwanted files.
Then Disk Defrag. Then check the available free space.
Repost with any questions about any additional programs to uninstall
afterwards.

If your funds permit, a 20-80 GB HD, 7200 rpm, ATA 100 or 133, is very
inexpensive just now, and copying your current drive to one, with the
included utility, and reconfiguring the new drive as the bootable drive is
really easy. You would then have the second, older drive to use as a backup
storage device, also.

I'd tend to agree with Jack on this (not unusual) - but if you're strapped
for cash, post back, and we'll see what we can do.....
