PowePoint from a Pocket PC & keyboards

Dear All,

HAs anyone tried giving PowerPoint presentations from a Pocket PC? I
understand that the main problem may be the low resolution of the Pocket.
Is there a way of gnerating a reanonably decent resolution? Are there any
other problems to be overcome?

Also, any advice on using fold-away or similar keyboards, so tht I can use
my Pocket PC (that I am considering buying) to create / edit Word and Excel
files easily?

First off, you need to know that PowerPoint does not come on the PPC. There
are good third party solutions for both displaying native PPT presentations
and creating/editing them. Those are distinct solutions BTW.

There is also no native video out on a Pocket PC so giving a PPT
presentation on other than the 2x3" screen is going to require third party
hardware. There are a number of solutions, none of them particularly cheap.
I think there is only one SDIO solution and that is Margi Presenter To Go.
There are a number of CF solutions, Margi has one, but PPCs with CF slots
are getting rarer. There are some projectors showing up with wireless
capabilities, so theoretically if your PPC has wireless capabilities that
would be one way to solve that problem. Haven't seen a specific instance of
that solution though.

Word and Excel on the Pocket PC are extremely anemic. If you want to do any
real work you will be destined to find a third party alternative. The most
full featured at this point appears to be TextMaker and PlanMaker.

The keyboard, as has been mentioned, is going to depend on whether you are
looking at one with a connection or that uses IR as the interface. The hard
wired seem to be more reliable, but tie you into one brand, and sometimes
one model of PPC.
