Hi. I'm completely green when it comes to wireless broadband and I wonder
whether any knowledgeable people out there could give me some advice?
I now live in an area which offers free wireless broadband but
unfortunately my Compaq isn't equiped for wireless. Here in the UK, Amazon
are running a special offer at present: A 3Com Office Connect ADSL Wireless
11G Firewall Router together with a free 3com office connect wireless 54
Mbps 11G PC Card (or a 11G USB wireless adapter).
Would this be a suitable set-up for enabling me to receive wireless
broadband?
If not could anyone tell me what I will need?
Many thanks.

Hi

The Hardware that you mentioned would enable you to use your Laptop Wirelessly if you
have a Telephone line based DSL Broadband connection.

To receive a publicly available Wireless Broadband you need Hardware that matches it.
However there are few forms of Wireless Broadband and you have to find out what is the
exact nature of the Wireless Broad and its parameters.
