Hi All

My NEC notebook cannot boot-up. Even can't go into "SETUP" screen when I
press F2. It stops after memory check. Occasionally it run into Windows,
but it hangs and goes into black screen after several minutes.

It's not likely a problem of power supply, RAM or harddisk error. What is
the most probable reason? Is it a fault on "BIOS"? It already cost me >$120
to replace the battery that only last for a year. I query the quality of NEC
notebook now!

Can the components of a notebook be used in desktop? e.g. the LCD screen and
DVD drive.

Does the clock in BIOS keep time correctly? If not, replace the battery,
some are picky if the vbat is low.

To be fair, NEC arent the greatest brand in the world.
