This unit of mine works well on my machine XP SP2 without problems also on a
friends running Win2000 SP4.

However, when I use it on another friends machine running XP with all
updates, no virus, no adware - a squeaky clean machine in every respect,
after the stick is removed via the approved manner and when I plug it back
into my computer it seems to operate, if at all, at something less than USB1
speed! At a loss as to what the problem could be. His iRiver works okay. The
result is I have to reboot into safe mode and reformat the Kingmax unit
