Bluetooth connection to a Nokia phone

I have just done a clean install of windows XP home on a new hard drive and
then installed windows XP SP2. I have a D-Link bluetooth USB dongle (contains
a Cambridge Silicon Radio chip I think). When I plug it in windows loads its
own signed driver and shows device as Generic bluetooth radio. In the
bluetooth devices window I can select Add and then search for my phone. It
finds it and successfully pairs with it. It then has Devices shown as Nokia
6230 Passkey enabled. If I select this and click Properties and Services it
show Dial-up networking(DUN) COM5, Serial port(SPP) 'COM1' COM9, Serial
port(SPP) 'Nokia PC Suite' COM7 all boxes checked. If I then go to Nokia PC
Suite V6.5.12 (the latest one) and select get connected it detects the phone
and then authenticates the phone. When I click Next in the bluetooth devices
window then phone status briefly changes to Connected twice and then returns
to Passkey enabled. Nokia PC Suite says it has made a connection. If I then
try to access the phone e.g. backup the phone or view the phonebook it does
not do it. The status at the bottom of the Nokia PC Suite window shows No
phone connected. Should the phone status show permenantly as connected in the
bluetooth devices window. What do I have to do to get it working.
