Disconnection Problem

I have a Motorola Cable modem and an Apple Airport. My desktop computer is
an HP and my laptop is an Apple. When the Motorola modem is connected just
to my HP computer my broadband connection is constant and I get a 4 bar
signal. When it's connected to the Apple Airport (which as far as I know is
the only way to hook an HP and an apple to the same wireless connection) the
desktop loses the internet up to 20 times a day. At the same time, the Apple
never loses connection. So I know it's not the WIFI connection 'going down'.

When the desktop loses connection, it still 'says' it's connected in the
Wireless Network box. It only remains at 2 bars whether it's connected or
not (not 4, even though the stuff is sitting on the same desk) and says it's
fine. But I can't pull up any pages or play online games. To fix it I
either restart or I 'view wireless networks, disconnect, and reconnect' to
the network. Then it's fine for 2 minutes or 2 hours. It doesn't matter
what I'm doing at the time, there is no set pattern or reasoning to why it
disconnects. The weirdest part is it still says it's connected.

Any advice? This is driving me insane.
