Smart Display vs. Handheld PC

Actually, the now defunct Smart Display was a CE device... The UI was
a shell on top of Windows CE 4.0... However, there won't be any
future revisions to this shell as the Smart Display program as evolved
into the Media Center Extender devices...

The shell was not necessarily specific, but the OS had to be
configured for the necessary drivers.
