I recently purchased a new dell laptop. It has windows
xp and an s video jack. I am taking a trip and would like
to use it as a tv screen for my sons game system. I have
the power adapter for the car for both the system and the
computer. I would like to know if it is possible to view
the video game on the lap top using an s video cable. I
know that the s video jack allows me to view the laptop on
a TV but is it possible to use it in the other direction?
Thanks
Eric

The short answer is NO, as the S video port in the Dell is an output only
device.

You can buy very cheaply a 5" to 10" LCD panel for the car to accept video
from portable DVD players and PCs.
Have a look at http://www.strathfield.com.au/category.asp?CatID=49

cheers
