I-700 automatically downloads email??

When you put it in the cradle connected to the PC with internet connection
then InBox will download the mail by itself.

Scary, mine did the same thing, and it wasn't in the cradle. I did have the
email set up to retrieve email from a POP server but I did not have it set
up to be automatic.

It is now.

When one of these "emails" comes in, select "view" and check the
"service name" at the lower right of the inbox screen.

I'm guessing that it will say SMS (Short Message Service) which is part
of the cell system and not the same as what most of us consider "email"

It's designed to send text messages from phone to phone and uses the
cellphone number to address messages.

It is "push" and therefore, potentially very valuable as anyone can send
you a "push" message from any text capabable phone or email client.

Assuming your service is verizon, send yourself a short (two line max)
email addressed to your cell number (no dashes or spaces) @VText.com i.e.;

1234567890@VText.com

Now the kicker... you can send and respond to messages that are
addressed by number only (try sending an sms number to yourself) but you
can't (easily) send or reply to messages with an internet address.
