I tried to edit earlier post, couldn't so here.

I here is a list of the equipment in my computer and drivers.
I have a P3 600, a shuttle motherboard, Western Digital 20 gig 7200 rpm hd, IBM deskstar 30 gig 7200 rpm hd, ASUS 7700 Pure GF2 GTS 32 meg vid card, Toshiba DVD-ROM, HP CD Writer, floppy, VIA chipset (have the newest 4in1 drivers), a generic keyboard, ms optical mouse, 56k modem (not using it for the net), D-link 10/100 (set on 10) network card, optiquest z90 19" monitor, SB Live Value audio, (flask also crashes my comp) following codecs installed divx mpeg4 vid codec, divx 4windows mpeg vid codec, divxc32f.dll,iccvid.dll, indeo video 5.10, ir32_32.dll, Microsoft Mpeg 4 vid codec v1, msh261.drv, msh263.drv,msrle32.dll,msvidc32.dll. I have DirectX 8 for win2k, i have media player 7 I don't know if it's win2k, couldn't find one that specified, have quicktime, winamp, asustek dvd, adaptec cd creator 4, i have the 6.50 reference drivers from nvidia for win2k. I have AGP 4x disabled. I have office2k premium installed. I have nvidia refresh rate fix installed (it crashed even before that was installed). I have flask, Visual cafe, lame, aim, cdrwin also installed.
I play HL (mods C-strike and TFC) and Untreal Tournament. Both crash using opengl mode when they didn't while under windows 98. I attempted to solve all my problems by downloading all the updates available on windows update website, but the service pack and compatability and all those others just fixed my AOL IM problem. There is nothing currently in my startup folder. There appears to be no conflicts in the device manager. Windows boots up with no errors, however, when i shutdown it shuts down and goes to a black screen with a curser and i have to do a hard reset. I have 128 megs of ram running at CL3 10ns (so i'm sure it's not causing the problem).
When I hit the problem in HL I can save the system by being patient and hitting cont+alt+del, then killing everything that it will let me and explorer.exe and then reopening explorer. During this time I saw that my system was at over 250 megs of used physical memory. When HL shut down (it was the only real app open) that dropped to 90. When UT crashes, everything dies have to hard reboot. I tried playing UT in D3d, still didn't fix the problem.

I'm including an Application System log of the event, i pretty sure this is the crash. If you can help. Please do. BTW, all this stuff worked fine under 98.

Thanks
