MSNBC.com carried an item on T-Mobile wi-fi this morning:

I wonder how they compare with other wireless Internet service providers
(wi-fi as well as 1xRTT and EV-DO) like Verizon or AT&T-Cingular.

unlimited gprs + hotspot).

WiFi (802 11b) is a completly different service that T-Mobile offers. You
have to be in a "HotSpot" and have a wireless card.

Really, a nice price. No phone service involved?

Usually the pricing is like this -

GPRS - Unlimited GPRS with a qualifying voice plan = $19.99
Unlimited GPRS without a qualifying voice plan = $29.99

WiFi (HotSpot) - With a voice plan = $19.99 and no contract
Without a voice plan = $29.99

I have turned it on a couple of times and then back off, finding a HotSpot
and sitting there instead of a nice hotel is not my idea of a good time.
