Hi all. Since about a week ago, when I am connected I get on a regular basis
an alert box telling me;
"Smc has caused an error in WPSMAN.DLL... Smc will now close"
Clicking "close" shuts down Sygate personal firewall which I then restart
and it works ok for a while.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Sygate (the free version) this morning
but it's still happening.
I can't remember having installed anything lately and I don't like the idea
that my firewall could just stop working like that.

Any ideas ?

You can also do a google search for wpsman.dll and go to
http://forums.sygate.com/vb/forumd [...] &forumid=8
then do a search for wpsman.dll.

Thanks Casey. Had Google"d" before but didn't see anything that helped me.
The thread on "forums.sygate.com" is very informative but, as the last
poster, I run windows ME and have the same problem so, I resorted to go the
Zone Alarm way for now !
