This is my current setup (and want to change it):

EPOX 8KHA+
Athlon XP 1900+ with Swiftech MCX462
Crucial 512Mb DDR
ENERMAX Whisper EG465P-VE(FC)
SIIG ULTRA ATA 100 PCI Controller Card
X-Gamer Audigy
WIN-TV PVR
Leadteck GF3 Ti 500
WIN XP Pro

Hello all :)
Well, my controler card is going out on me. My TV card looks really bad on this board. Hauppauge said it's a common problem with the KT266a & KT333 chipsets. It looked very sharp on my 815 chipset.

Anyway, I have in my hand a P4-2.66 CPU. I am really confused about the MO/BO & the memory choice. Yes, I've been reading a lot, but still have questions
With this chip, I want a 845E or an i850E board, correct? I would like the RAMBUS route in the memory category.

Questions (please)
There are 2 choices in RDRAM for this chipset, PC800 & PC1066. Would the PC1066 really make a difference with a 2.66 (will be O/Cing)?

Kingston & Samsung (spell check) sell PC1066, correct? How much $?

Before I ask, which board, have the i850E boards been out long enough to recommend a very stable and semi overclockable one?

Thanks guys ;)

Well im building the same type of system. I am putting a 2.26 P4b and overclocking it to 2.6 or 2.7. I was told, and I believe that the best mobo for this would be the Giga-byte GA-8IHXP Tehama-E 850E/ICH4. This is the board that I am going to use to overclock. It allows u to overclock more than the Asus P4T533-C, a review said the asus can only go to 150 fsb, and it has more features than the Iwill P4R533-N but it may be more difficult to overclock, you will get more out of it though. The gigabyte runs for about $180.00.

As for the Rambus, I was told that Samsung was a better overclocker. I am getting the PC-800 because the other is too expensive. I was also told that it was easy to overclock the PC-800 to PC-1066. This is the ram that i am getting and the price, 2x Samsung 256 MB PC800 nonECC RAMBUS RDRAM RIMM - $166.00.

All of these prices are at www.newegg.com. hehe now someone will read what i wrote and probably criticize me becuase i am new at building comps.

Anywho, lol hope that i was some help.
