Hi my current pc is

Pentium 3 866mhz (not overclocked)
Acer Motherboard (onboard sound and video)
256MB PC-133 RAM
32MB aladin TNT2 Graphics (onboard)
20.4GB HDD @7200rpm
LG 17” Pro Monitor
16x DVD ROM
68x CD ROM
Logitech optical USB Mouse,
keyboard, speakers etc
Windows 98SE

As u can see this sytem is starting to lag behind in 3d games such as MAx Payne at playable resolutions.

I have decided i am going to upgrade my graphics card but to do this im going to need to upgrade my motheboard and get a new sound card. (my mobo dosnt have an AGP slot)

My choices r as follows: mobo - ASUS CUSL2-C
MSI 815EP Pro
ABIT SA6-R
AOpen AX3S Pro

Graphics Cards: ASUS V7700GTS 32MBDRR
Hercules 3D Prophet 4500 64MBSD
Eagle GF2 GTS Pro 32MBDDR
Apollo GF2 GTS 64MBSD
HIS (unknown) GF2 GTS Pro 64MBDDR
Suma GF2 GTS Pro 64MBDDR

Sound Card: Hercules MUSE XL
Creative Soundblaster Live!Value
AOpen AW744 PRO

Ok i would like to know which of these r MUST GETS or if any r DONT GET.

Is the 64MB DDR much better than 32MB DDR ???

Ok thanx for any help

mobo: Asus TUSL2-C
graphics: ASUS V7700GTS 32MB DRR, if you are a heavy gamer, get 64 MB but better still you could get a faster processor for that amount.
audio: Creative Soundblaster Live!Value

A better power supply will also help

If you're getting a new motherboard, you might as well considering moving to an AMD platform so you can have an upgrade path in the future. I'd recommend the ECS motherboard with DDR RAM and a 1GHz Athlon with the 32MB DDR Asus v7700. Don't let people fool you, 64MB DDR is not worth it yet.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the ULTIMATE PC processor
