I was wondering whether anyone can suggest where I can get my hands on re-install cd for my Compaq Presario 1500 (Model 1501CL)? My laptop crashed and the operating system just goes to a blue screen. I lost all my recovery cd during my move and need to get a copy of the re-install CD to try and reinstall the XP software. I have the xp key, so all I would need is the re-install disk. If you know of where I can get one, Please advise, Eddie Romero

If you can get your hands on a regular XP cd that should work. Borrow one from a friend or something. HP/Compaq "might" have replacements avaliable but I have no idea what they would cost. It might be worth a call/email.

Call Compaq. I ordered a replacement CD about a year ago from them for $10 USD.

Thanks for the input, went to Compaq, entered my PC info, and they were able to send me a Full set of restore cds for a good price, $10. Again, thanks, Setdhook
