[JANNA HOWE]Hi I am new to this site. I am having trouble downloading my
pictures to the computer. I spoke with Olympus and they seem to think it
is a problem with Windows. I have the program CAMEDIA installed but I am
unable to access it.
Therefore I cannot download any pictures. Any ideas will be welcome.

Thank you
Janna

Please help us to help you. What does "I am unable to access it"
mean? What happens when you try? If you get an error message,
please quote it verbatim.

What camera do you have? You shouldn't need to use any special
software to do this.

I also have an Olympus camera that uses Camedia, but I have not yet
installed Camedia since installing Windows XP or updating to SP2, so the
problem you have I might also have.

What version of Camedia Master are you using (2.1, 2.5, 4.0, 4.1), or are
you using Camedia Utility C511?

Does the camera connect via serial port or usb?

Janna,

I find it easiest to pre-create folders in Olympus Camedia, like Indiana-Family or Ohio-Family. I then go into Windows Exploer, click on the camedia folderof originals, and either copy the entire folder of your pictures to the appropriate Camedia folder, or each picture one-by-one. Close, and re-open Camedia and choose the folder wanted, and all pictures in that folder should display. You then have the options of opening the individual picture, resizing (my optimum is 780x640 pixels for a horizontal picture, and 640x480 pixels for a vertical picture). you can do Instant Fix to adjust poor-lighting or over-lighting. Last step is to save the manipulated picture, and it is ready then for your screen-saver or background-picture. To use as a desktop-picture, click (BUT DON'T OPEN) the picture, then click on Wallpaper, and the picture now is your desktop-wallpaper.

Whomever,

I have XP Professional with SP2 on an IBM NetVista with 512mb. I loaded and installed the 2.5 software OK (there is a small 'caveat' about possible problems with XP, but no problems to date).l

thank you for answering a 2 year old thread, if you would be kind enough to pay attention next time and not respond to such old threads that would be great.
