My parents are after a laptop that amongst the usual, needs to be able to perform video editing. For this reason we have been looking for a laptop that is as powerfull as possible.

We have seen a good price for the HP ZD7377EA, it has a P4 3.2 GHz at 800MHz FSB etc.

I have been warned that there could be a possibility for something this powerfull to overheat.

Could this be a problem?

I know the tasks ideally require a desktop, but they want to be able to completely put it away.

Any help or links on the subject would be greatfully recieved.

Eh, Laptops are made to run fairly hot. The last HP laptop I used was an older 3ghz one and ran VERY hot but never died because of it. If a laptop crashes or shuts down because of heat it is faulty and should be returned/replaced.
I advise you not to work with that or any other non mobile cpu laptop on your lap for any extended period of time. Those things do get VERY hot. For extended periods of use ALWAYS put those things on a table or have something between you and it.

Thanks, it will be on a tabletop when being used, but provided that heat from the CPU is not a problem, thats all that matters.
