Indy 4 is right around the corner and while we can't wait to see it there are others who anticipate the worst. Senior Editor Travis Meacham takes early Internet grumblings on the new film to task.

This was a great little rant. Don't mean to diminish it by calling it that, but that's really what it was.

And I agree whole heartedly on every aspect. Especially the "They're only doing this because it's easy money." paragraph... snorting cocaine out of the navels of supermodels... classic!!

I just saw it in theaters. It was good. Probably between third best in the series, although it might be the worst in some ways, it's still good. I've always considered Temple of Doom the worst, but it still had some great lines. I can't think of any lines or memorable moments that people will be citing and imitating for years to come. I still enjoyed it, but I know some people won't just because of their misguided notions of what an Indy film should be just like people hated the Star Wars prequels. As long as Harrison Ford keeps starring, I'll keep watching and enjoying Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford makes the character still believable as an aging action hero. My only real complaint would probably be Karen Allen. She just seemed off.

Yeah that's almost exactly what it was. The columns are a good place for that kind of thing and Rob and I need that outlet. Glad you enjoyed it.

I just came home from the movie myself, but I don't want to say anything lest it spoil my review that's scheduled for Thursday. Check back then. I will say to Maxor127, you are not wrong. :)

Anyone that works in computers, entertainment or anything like that is going to need an outlet. (I fix comps all day and deal with ppl all day... stress is my bed time pal heh) It's honestly refreshing to read something like this, cause it did a much better job of putting my thoughts into words than I could of.

Looking forward to your review, and the movie. Especially since it's all stunt action and real explosions, CG is cool but a bit overdone IMO. I still think the fight around the plane in Raiders is the greatest action scene in any movie ever. I dont' think speilberg could top that accomplishment again, but I don't want him to try. That was just a superb piece of film where everything just happened to click.
