Had to reformat my HD on a Win98SE box. Now I have IE 5.0 but I want to find IE 5.5, which MS no longer offers for download. I tried to update to IE 6 and all my network settings got munged, so I reverted back to 5.0. I've read online that IE 6 doesn't always match well with Win98. Where can I find a download of 5.5?

I found a great source (for MSIE 5.5) to be the free CDROM from the bank. Poke around through the directory and you might find a folder for MSIE -- and you get the 128-bit encryption version. Another good place to look is a free AOL CD. As above. With AOHell, though, you have to search the registry and delete lots of crap setting your home page (to AOL) , your search page (AOL), your religious affiliations (AOL) and your last will & testament...

Thanks for the good suggestion. I found an install for 5.0 on my old hd that improved the security settings on the pc in question, and that was the purpose of lookign for 5.5, so I guess I'm done.
