Hello, i just bought a new gfx card (Verto geforce fx 5700le Optima). With hopes it would be better than my old one. Upon installation, i find that when running games on stock drivers, i get distortion. Blocks and colors, shapes and lines, stuff that should not be there. You cant make out the game. I have updated drivers, chipset. I have used new drivers, old drivers, beta drivers, I still get the same thing. I have called PNY about this they say to try it on another PC and see if the ram is bad. I do not have this luxury. Please help me. PC stats as follows.

GeForce FX 5700le?? Return it to the store and use the refund to buy a 9800Pro. The 5700le is a butchered version of the 5700, which still doesn't compare to the 9800Pro.

I appreciate the post, but that does not help my problem. I DID read the buyers guide first, and I DID know this card was crappy. However what i did miss when going over the buyers guide WAS that this card doesnt work at all. Although i do recall buyers guide saying nothing good about n e card besides the 9600pro, 9800pro, and most of the $400+ cards. All i use my gfx for is FFXI, It runs fine in crap resolution, and slight lag in max res/textures. i just wanted a cheap fix for this around $100-$150. However, this will not happen, so I WILL take it back and suffer ugly resolution for the rest of my miserable life! |

for your price range get a radeon 9600 pro or xt. the 9800pro isn't much more, but it runs hotter and uses more power, gives you twice the performance too though |

georgebee has a good point...you should be able to get the 9600XT 128MB version for around the same price you paid for the 5700LE, and the 9600XT is a really nice card.
