Thats called intraptment here in the US and a decent lawyer can push that out like nothing and it was the owner itself that in escence gave it away.

The best that they can do is deact those copies but they will be getting a shock if they can persuit legal action on those that do DL it.

From what Ive seem of this program, Its juat too damn good to rip off the company. Gotta give them props, in case in monetary form.

Well have to see. Doom 3 is a killer game and a TON of people ripped it off of bittorrent. Valve will probably see the same ammount. Whenever I finish MOHPA, Ill get that collectors edition of HL2, got the HL1 shirt long time ago and want the HL2 shirt.

If it anything like the original then Id say it will be a must have, just look at all the famous multiplayer mods that spawned from HL1.

im just going to wait till its 40 bucks and ill buy it. shouldnt be long. the day frys has it for 40 bucks and every one else is still 50, frys will make a [-peep-] load of money on items other than the game. thats what they did with far cry. of course they ran out in like the first hour and were giving out rain checks. thats ok though.

The problem i have with this, is its not pirating. Valve is basically giving the public HL2 for free and banning people for using it. A company can't pirate its own software. This is like the RIAA sharing a kazaa account with its full library of music then suing people for downloading the music for free.

maybe its not entrapment but it is not pirating either. Pirating is illegal, putting your own software on a filesharing network and allowing people to download it is not. Its called shareware.

I don't blame Valve for trying to circumvent pirating.

They just choose the dumbest ways of doing things in alot of matters.

Does it say they are the ones pirating it? I didn't see that. As long as they aren't the ones sharing the file then they will be alright. However if they ARE sharing the file. That is probably another story.

I understand hittin the warez scene when your 14 and living with your parents and have no money, but once you get a job its no excuse.
