Hi, I'm pretty new to pda's in general so i hope this is just some daft
mistake on my part.

I have installed ViaMichelin's Mapsonic on to my lifedrive and it has
installed no problem but the map wasn't loaded on at this point. When i
follow the instructions to use the Mapsonic program on my desktop called
'MapStore', i am able to export a map in a .pdb file ready for synching.
When i then try to synch this accross as per the instructions it takes about
10 mins and then i get errors in my sync log file telling me that the map
wasn't synched because there may not have been enough memory to complete the
operation.
I am wanting to install this program on to the hdd of the lifedrive, yet
when i use the 'Quick Install' program it only lets me choose between the
the internal memory (i think... it says 40mb free anyway) and the sd card.
There is nothing to indicate that i have 3.5gb free on the hdd anywhere, nor
do i know how to tell 'quick install' to synch the map to the hdd. Is this
possible?

Apologies if this isn't crystal clear...

Thanks
Ian.

Run the LifeDrive Manager program on your PC and use the 'Copy files from PC'
function which allows you to copy any file to the hard disk in your LifeDrive.

Thanks Ben. After hours and hours messing around i found that i needed to
export the file in mapstore as an '.ilf' (sp?) file and not a .pdb.
Having done this and then successfully synched the file i was getting 'Not
Enough Memory' messages when i tried to open the map.
I then exported a much smaller area from mapstore and it worked fine. I
tried several different sized selections of the UK map and found that the
lifedrive just can't cope with large areas and even if it displays the map,
it will say that it is out of memory when you try to plot a route.
Looks like i need an alternative bit of software :o(

Thanks for the reply though
Ian.
