Yes, if you have Direct X 9, 3dmark 2001 wont run because it needs DX 8. Just run 3dmark 2003.

Nevermind, just checked and it's integrated into the current installer. It used to be that you would download the program and the update (build 330) and install both--now it's all incorporated in one installer. Try reinstalling DX9 maybe.
