Best Buy had put AOL on mine and I had never used or wanted to use AOL. I have Fios. Anyhow I thought I look for some of the files mentioned in this thread and decided too complex and decided to just remove all AOL stuff. A miracle...I'm typing so fast now and can't explain it. I use Webroot Secure Anywhere and Microsoft Security. Why this works is a mystery to me and thought I'd share it.
