Is 2.5" IDE/ATA-100 (ATA-6) 44 pin connector mobile hard drive identical with PATA hard drive with same 44 pin connector? I have to upgrade my existing 80Gb IDE 2.5" mobile hard drive to higher capacity , since not enough to store more files.
Thank hope to hear from you soonest.

Thank for your explanation and for the image of IDE/PATA and SATA. I got now clear view between IDE/PATA and SATA HDD. May I ask you some more question Can I attached external 250 GB SATA HDD through 2.0 USB connection to my Compaq Presario V2000 model and retain my current 80GB IDE HDD? So i wont remove the current HDD but add new external HDD!
Hope to hear from you soon
Thank
