I bought a Zire 72s a while ago and need to surf the web with it. After
Verizon screwed me I decided to quit them. I need to know who to go with
and what phone to use. It looks like the Motorola v551 with Cingular
would work. But the Razr looks really cool. Unfortunately it isn't
listed as being supported by Palmone. Any chance I could lie to the Zire,
telling it it is talking to a v551 and have it work with a Razr?

TIA.

What about dropping the Zire and picking up a Treo 650? Very nice device!

The screen is small, It doesn't have Grafitti, It isn't a clamshell.

By the way. I didn't ask for your advertising.

The latest Phonelink update does have the V3 listed... and I have used my
Z72 with a V3Razr way before the update came out. The V500 driver works
fine. Go to the palmone website for the Phonelink Update.

Is the Zire 72 a clamshell?

Wow, where'd that come from?

No but I've had problems from non-clamshell phones making calls from my
pocket with the help of my keys.

I do wish the Zire came with a hard cover or that I could buy one for it.
All I can find are full cases. liked the Palm Vx. It had a cover that
was hinged to a stylus sized rod. You could put the cover on either side
and the stylus on the other. It was a good way to accommodate either
handies.

Are you talking about the little updater that comes with the phone or a
whole new program that you have to download and install?

I've tried the v500 driver and it doesn't seem to almost work. The phone
and the Zire talk but I can't seem to sign on with the browser.

I'm talking about a program from Palm that has been updated twice now
called "PhoneLink". As I stated before, it now has a driver for the V3
included, though the V500 driver worked also. You are aware that you have
to sign up for "Data Access" from your cell provider right? Cingular has
many different plan$.
