Hi folks,

I usually buy factory refurbished items (Dell notebook, Apple
powerbook, Palm Tungsten T3, as examples) because they're cheap and they
work and they're backed by the manufacturer. Can't seem to find links
to PalmOne refurbished Treo's. Am I missing the link, or do they not
exist? Hard to pay $500-$600 for a Treo when only 10 months ago I got
my Tungsten T3 for nearly $400. Aren't there any upgrade deals in which
I trade in my T3 for a bunch o' money off a Treo? Guess I gotta sell
the T3 on eBay...

Really? I've had (and heard) nothing but problems with refurbs.
You know you can get a Treo 650 for $449 from Cingular with contract (even
if you're already signed with them) right?
Either way, I would strongly suggest going 650, and make sure it wasn't a
1st release unit. They are reported to have bugs (this from a Cingular
store rep.)
Dunno if firmware upgrade fixes em, but I can tell you it DIDN'T in the
case of my 600 which was a 1st release.

Yeah, really. Apple iBook, Dell c400, Tungsten T3. Since refurbs come
with backing from the company, if anything is wrong, it was either fixed
already or gets fixed. If nothing is wrong in the first 90 days,
nothing is gonna be wrong, in my experience.

I thought that good offer was for new contracts only. I'll have to
check again. Big savings would make it much more affordable.

Where is this deal? The PalmOne store says $549 with continued Cingular
service, $449 with new service.
