More Information

i'm using win 2000. i have re-installed the win 2000 however the warning of cpu 100% used still occured (but the frequency is not as often as before). i have checked the task manager and found that windns32.exe & services.exe occupied most of the cpu. what can i do? help!

More Information

I'm pretty sure that windns32.exe is a worm. Looks like you have a virus. Maybe try http:// http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ or if clicky dont work cut and paste http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

More Information

Yup - It's a worm here is some info...

Do you use any Antivirus Software? It doesn't take long to get a virus-infected e-mail these days, so even if you do a fresh install, within hours you could be infected again.

if you need some AV software you could use AVG 6 free edition

Some firewall software would also be a good idea, if you don't have any. Zonealarm is a free one which does the job. There may be better ones out there though.

dear all,
THX a lot !!!

More Information

Next time you will install Windows do this in the following order :

1. Install the OS WITHOUT your Lan card connected to the net
2. Install a firewall (I recommend ZoneAlarm)
3. Install Anti-Virus software (anyone you like)
3. Connect your PC to the internet
4. Update your Anti-Virus definitions files to the latest version
5. Go to www.windowsupdate.com and install ALL the security patch. You will probably have to reboot 100 times (go blame Microsoft for that)
6. Don't use OUTLOOK for your e-mail, anything else is better (I recommend Mozilla.org/ThunderBird)
7. Install ad-aware are run it once a week.
8. DON'T INSTALL CRAP (like Kazaa) and scan the files you D/L from the net.
9. And so on... But I stop there, if you do all this and want more advice, reply to this message.

What's up with Outlook, I use Outlook Express whole my life and don't get any nestie worms, it is not an Outlook but those who are "looking" into the wrong things getting "stuffz".

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...

I strongly recommend AntiVir for Virus Guardian. It is a BMW of Antivirus Software, but not as expansive;)>

There is nothing wrong with Outlook, it's just that 95% of the worms/virus are made to abuse Outlook/Windows flaws, so not running Outlook reduce the chance of getting virus/worms a lot.

If you have a firewall and a up-to-date Anti-Virus software and you are smrt enough, you will probably never get a virus through Outlook.

But, outlook don't have all the features I need and use in a e-mail client, so it's why I use Mozilla.org/Thunderbird.
